5 March

I thought that today (my last class and my last day in London) would be a typical day, but not, David and Maureen have proposed me a small tour close to London, concretly, Oxfordshire area. We visited two small villages, Turville and Hambleden.

In Turville there is a windmill which is a frame of film: Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. After we visited Hambledon and we walked around the village, and we visited the church.







At lunch time, we went to a typical English pub, The Bull & Butcher (www.thebullandbutcher.com) and we ate a typical Pie. We had an excellent day!!





Now, I think that this is my last entrance in this bloc.

3 March

Hi everybody who are following this blog. This is my last week in London!! I already have a desire to return!! But first, I will explain these last two weeks.

The weekend of 20-21 of February, Mireia didn't come to London. It was impossible to find a flight!
I went to Camden Market with David and Maureen. We ate a typical Fish&Chips and after we visited all the market. This market, Camden, is different. There are a lot of small shops (Gothic, art, design, clothes, etc...) and it was full of different people. Incredible!! I like very much the Camden Market but is very stressful for the amount of people who visit it. I spent all of my money, jejeje.







On Sunday I did nothing, only I looked again the rules of English and I wrote some exercises.

The following weekend, 27-28 of February (the last weekend in London), Mireia came here again. We found a good flight! This weekend was a stressful because first, we visited Martha and family, in Swanley. They waited us for had a lunch. We arrived at 15h, more or less. We took lunch and we went quickly because at night we had lunch with David and Maureen. Between Swanley and Hanwell there are 1.45m in public transport and this Saturday the public transport were not very good. We had a lot of problems to arrive Swanley and came back to Hanwell. At the end, We arrived very well and we had an excelent dinner.





On Saturday morning, we went to Covent Garden to buy anything, and after we came back at home and directly we went to the airport.

This week I had my first important test in English. I have participated in Parkex (Car Park Fair in London). I have had a great experience and I have seen that my level in English is better than before.
The course of English have been a great experience, now I have a good level of English.

18 February

I continued my experience in London. These last days I was very occuped and I hope that now I'll write more often. In these "kit kat" I've visited a little bit more London and the last weekend we visited Dublin (an incredible city).

For example the weekend of 5-6 of February, Mireia came here again and we visited the city center. We started in Madame Tussaud's (http://www.madametussauds.com) but we didn't enter, there were a lot of people in cue. We continued to Marylebone High Street where we found some beautiful shops and then we arrived to Oxford Street. My uncle had recomended me to visit Fortnum & Manson (http://www.fortnumandmason.com) and of course, we visited the shop. It's a beutiful shop to visit, only to visit, jejeje. Near the shop we found a Benihana Restaurant where my uncle told us that if we have an opportunity we would take lunch or dinner, because is a different restaurant.
In the afternoon we walked around to Big Ben and London Eye and we ended the day in a pub, drinking a beer.









On Sunday, we went to Speakers Corner and we continued to Harrod's. We walked around Harrod's and finally we went to the airport. Mireia had the flight at 16h. Afterwards, I went to Stamford Bridge (Chelsea Stadium) where it was the Chelsea - Arsenal day. There were a lot of people and I tried to buy a ticket but it was impossible.





The week was the same. Study, study and more study English and the afternoons were work, work and more work. I had a very stressful week. It's lucky that the following weekend we going to Dublin. Different city, different experiences.

Finally, last weekend started with a David's retirement dinner. All David's family came to celebrate his early retirement. I met all his family and we had an excellent dinner. I prepared two (Truita de Patates) omelettes with potatoes. I enjoyed it a lot.





On Saturday, we went to Dublin. It was an incredible experience. Dublin is fantastic and people were very friendly. Now I understand the comments of a good friend who always said that Dublin was different.

We had only 24h to spend in Dublin. We started visiting Guinness Factory (very important) and to get to factory we bought two tickets for Red City Bus. In this way, we had a good way to visit Dublin quickly.



The Guinness Factory was a good visit, but the best thing is the Gravity Bar, on the top of the Factory where we drank a very good pint of Guinness.





We continued visiting Temple Bar. We went to a tipical Irish Pub, Oliver St John Gogarty (http://www.gogartys.ie). There was an incredible ambient because the pub was full. A lot of people were watching the 6 Nations match, France - Ireland. Really, a very good ambient. We drank a tipical pint of Guinness and after we went to another pub, also tipical, The Temple Bar (http://www.thetemplebarpub.com). In this pub we drank another Guinness and we enjoyed live music. We enjoyed it a lot. Finally we took dinner in Gogartys pub and we continued the evening visiting another pubs.





On Sunday, we woke up early because we wanted to visit a lot of places, Trinity College, St Patricks Cathedral, Christ Church, Dublin Castle, etc... Thanks to Red City Bus, we could visit all the places and ended we drank the last Irish Guinness in the airport.












We recommend visit to Dublin.

3 February

Finally, I went to the pub last Friday. I had bought a newspaper and I had a drink, Guiness that's right!!. I walked around the Ealing Broadway area and I returned at home.

On Saturday, Mireia came again and we went to visit Martha and Andrew in Swanely. They had waited for a great weekend. On Saturday evening there were a party at the school. They prepared a Greek night with a great show, ABBA Show, and Greek lunch. We had helped to prepare the party and dinner, and we enjoyed a lot during the party. It was a very funny party.









On Sunday we visited a huge shopping center near Swanely and finish the weekend.
As Mireia had free on Monday and Tuesday, on Monday morning we walked around in Hyde Park until that Mireia had the flight.



The week through away very quickly and every day I study on the morning and I work on the afternoon.

3 Febrer

Finalment vaig poder anar al pub el passat divendres!! Vaig donar un tomet per la zona, Ealing Broadway y cap a casa.

Dissabte va venir la Mireia i vam anar a visitar la Martha i l'Andrew. Ens esperaven per dinar i al vespre havien preparat una festa (ABBA) per recaudar diners per les vacances dels nens de l'escola i també pel terratremol d'Haití.
Va ser una festa molt divertida i ens ho vam passar molt bé.

L'endemà vam anar a donar un tomet per un gran centre comercial que hi ha a Swanely i cap de setmana passat. Com que la Mireia tenia festa el dilluns, vam aprofitar per donar un tomet per Hyde Park i vam veure la guardia reial a cavall que debien estar fent un curs. I res més. Cap de setmana acabat i començament d'una altre setmana.

Hi everybody,

Another week (3rd), another weekend with Mireia in London.

Finally, I didn't can to go to the pub last Friday. I had a lot of problems at work and I hadn't time to went to the pub. Other day.

On Saturday, Mireia came back again. She arrived at 11h, more or less, and I picked up her at Heathrow Airport, and after we went to the Hotel, Park Grand (www.parkgrandlondon.co.uk). We had book in a Best Western Hotel in Paddington but finally they changed us another hotel, Park Grand, near the first hotel. A very good hotel and the best, very good price and better situation. A few metres of Hyde Park.



We went to Oxford Street and took lunch. On the afternoon, we walked around for Oxford Street and Carnaby Street. Carnaby Street is good shoping area. In 60's was the flower power street.
After we went to Covent Garden again, and bought tea (tipical). Finally we went to a pub and drink some beers. We took dinner in a restaurant near the hotel. The days in London was longs and at the end of the day we were very tired.





On Sunday, we visited the Natural History Museum (http://www.nhm.ac.uk/) and we didn't have more time for visit other places. We went to Heathrow Airport again, and Mireia return at home until we're waiting for next weekend.





At now, I'm in the third week in London and today I visited Stamford Bridge, Chelsea FC Stadium, the Iniesta's Sanctuary, jejeje.






27 Gener

Finalment el divendres passat no vaig poder anar al pub. Es va complicar la feina a l'oficina i no vaig tenir temps per anar-hi. Un altre dia.

El dissabte va tornar a venir la Mireia. Va arribar més o menys a les 11h i vam anar directament a l'hotel, Grand Park (www.parkgrandlondon.co.uk). Teniem una reserva a l'hotel Best Western a Paddington, però al final ens van canviar a l'hotel Grand Park. Molt aprop del primer. Un molt bon hotel, molt bon preu i lo millor la situació, a pocs metres de Hyde Park.

Vam anar a Oxford Street i allí vam dinar. Després vam donar un tomet per Oxford Street i Carnaby Street. Una bona zona de compres. Carnaby Street als anys 60 va ser un carrer del flower Power (hippie). Després vam anar al Covent Garden, que estavem al costat, i vam aprofitar per comprar te (tipic). Finalment vam anar a un pub a fer unes quantes cervesetes, com no, i després vam sopar a un italià que hi havia aprop. Estavem super cansats i ja vam retirar.

El diumenge vam visitar el Museu d'Història Natural (http://www.nhm.ac.uk/), i ja no vam tenir temps per anar a algún altre lloc. Vam tornar cap a l'aeroport i la Mireia cap a casa, tot esperant tornar aquest cap de setmana.

Jo ja estic a la meva tercera setmana a Londres, i avui he aprofitat per anar a Stamford Bridge, a l'estadi del Chelsea FC, santuari d'Iniesta, jejeje.

21 January

Hello,

I pass the first weekend in london. Mireia was coming on saturday and we had a good english experience. We had a really good dinner with the family and Sunday we went to walk in Hyde Park. Sunday was the only sunny day I had had until today.



When we arrived at Buckingham Palace, we saw that a lot of people made a film o serial, I don't know. Also we visited Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden. Covent Garden is really a beautiful place and we had a coffee in a small Turkey Coffee. We had a great weekend and now I wait for next Saturday Mireia will come again.











The rest of the week, continuos the same. On Mornings, english class, english, english and more english. After I take lunch, normally a sandwich (typical english lunch) and on the afternoon, I study a little and work a lot. The weather always is cloudy and maybe is possible it's raining. A very bored english weather.







Tomorrow I hope to going to the Ealing Broadway Pub, and drink an english beer or maybe twice!!!

21 Gener

Ja ha passat el primer cap de setmana a Londres. La Mireia va venir, va arribar el dissabte al matí i vam anar cap a casa. Primer vam dinar a un pub a Ealing Broadway i després vam anar a presentar-li la familia i preparar-nos per sopar, que sopavem amb ells. Vam tenir un molt bon sopar, bona companyia i vam practicar molt l'anglès.

L'endemà vam aprofitar per caminar pel Hyde Park. Va ser l'únic dia amb sol de tots els que porto aquí. També vam anar a veure el Palau de Buckingham i al costat vam trobar un grup de gent que estava fent una escena d'una pel·licula o serie, no ho sé. Vam passejar per Trafalgar Square i Covent Garden. Que guapo que es Covent Garden, on vam fer un cafè a un petit cafetó turc.

La resta de la setmana continua igual. Al matí més classes, anglès, anglès i més anglès. Després fem un petit dinar, tipic dinar anglès (sandwich) i a la tarda estudiar una miqueta i treballar. Sobretot treballar. El temps no acompanya massa, sempre està núvol i potser plou. Tipic i aborrit temps anglès.

Demà espero anar al pub d'Ealing Broadway a fer una cerveseta, o potser dues.

13 January

Hello everybody, new day in london (pinguin village, jejejeje Arare says, jejeje). Today another day, another class. A long class today. After the class enjoy a small lunch and after I went to look another place to buy a oyster card. Now I have a Oyster card, but the weather is very bad, cold and snowed.

This night had snowed a lot, 20 cm a new snow. I have a great views but is not a good weather to walk around the area. Difficult to walk, and very cold. I prefer walk around another day, may be tomorrow.

13 Gener

Bones a tothom, nou dia a londres (a la vila del pingüi, jejeje, com diu l'Arare, jejeje). Avui un altre dia, una altre classe. Avui una classe llarga. Després de la classe he disfrutat d'un petit dinar i després he sortit a buscar un lloc per comprar la targeta Oyster. Ara ja la tinc, però el temps no es bo, fred i neu.

Aquesta nit ha nevat molt, 20 cm de neu nova. Tinc unes bones vistes però no es un bon temp per donar un tomet per aquí. Díficil caminar, i molt fred. Prefereixo donar el tomet un altre dia, potser demà.
